Silver breakout and Australian Lunar Silver Coins

| Australian Lunar Silver, Silver Coins | November 18, 2010

Silver values have really been on the move over the last month or so and this breakout looks to be just the beginning. The Fed is a trustworthy institution in that you can trust that they will continue with this quantitative easing which will drive the dollar's value down (along with most other currencies) and commodities including food will rise as a result. The prices have already started going up on the wholesale level... the public has so far been shielded from the increases in 2010 and may have only experienced approx. 1% inflation in food prices so far.

As you're probably already aware, the first edition Aussie Lunar Silver coins were available in very limited quantities. The premiums seem to be significant, however, the mintage volumes also point to a great value. These coins command top dollar... don't forget that now more and more people and news reports are touting silver and silver coins as investment. This will further drive the premium up on these types of coins. The 2 oz silver coins are very nice to hold as I'm sure you'll agree... the 5 oz lunar silver coins are just plain rare now - those that hold them don't really want to sell them - just check online - very few are to be had at any price. The 10 oz lunar silver coins border on obnoxiousness, but heck, I have a few and wish I had a box full. So before you shy away from coins with a bit of premium on top - think again as that premium is likely to remain in tact.

Silver Bullion Rounds (silver coins) – Invest For Long Term Financial Security

| Silver Bullion, Silver Coins | September 7, 2010

Silver has always been considered a precious metal that has monetary value, can be easily traded and one that will continue to be high in demand. It is known for its many uses, mainly because of its properties such as malleability, its electrical conductivity and strength. Aside from these industrial applications, silver has also been a good hedge against inflation making it a secured investment that can provide good returns in the future. Silver is also being traded in different forms, making it an attractive investment for those who consider it a collectible. These days, the one that is gaining much popularity among investors is the silver bullion rounds.

Because it is used in many industrial and commercial applications, silver has become well in demand and the current known estimates of above-ground silver has gone down to a mere 300 million ounces. Based on this estimate, the silver market is predicted to remain bullish for years to come.

Silver Bullion Rounds

Silver bullion rounds are also called silver coins or silver art rounds, and have a purity of .999 in silver. There are many designs you can choose from, which make them perfect collectors’ items as well. They often sell at a lower price than the government backed silver bullion coins, although they can be traded at a higher premium, if they carry a design that has not been in circulation for many years, such as the Engelhard 1 oz. Prospector Silver Coins. These were originally produced in the late 70s, by Engelhard, which was the first to put in the silver market 1 oz silver bullion rounds with the image of a panning prospector. As the silver market waned in the late 1980s, Engelhard stopped production of these silver bullion rounds. The ones known to be in circulation are those dated 1983-1987, which are now being sold at higher premiums, because they are considered collector’s items.
Silver bullion rounds are perfect for small investors who want to create a hedge against inflation and at the same time benefit from the growing scarcity of silver. They are relatively more affordable than the gold and platinum coins in the market, and are often considered as collectibles. Most of these silver bullion rounds are being traded in the open secondary market, however, caution must be practiced when doing barter trades using public sites such as Craigslist, because of the danger of exposing yourself when meeting potential traders that you just met online. The safer, and more recommended way to get your hand on authentic silver bullion rounds is to purchase online. You can do this through auctions conducted by reliable silver traders, who have been in the business for quite a while and have gained a solid reputation of trust. Online purchases are more secured now due to third party processors such as PayPal.
As inflation is predicted to continue to rise in years to come, prices of major commodities is certain to increase, making an investment in silver a sure bet against the U.S. dollar. It is an excellent long term investment because of the dwindling global silver supply. There is no better time to buy silver bullion rounds, as the world demand for silver exceeds global production.
